Dave Russell

Dave Russell is THE Alt-Folk pioneer, possibly the last of the originals still doing gigs, Russell is the most unique performerI have ever seen and personally my favourite act of all time. His web presence is virtually non existent but here are acouple of glorious examples:

Polly Tones

Polly Tones are an acoustic duo with voices and songwriting skill
of exceptional standard. Their music can be described as experimental acoustic pop with romantic and folk overtones.
Sometimes a little dark in humour and always top notch.

Brother Dear

Kipps and Chris have played and recorded together on and off for many years. Falling somewhere between folk and pop their lyrics incorporate humor and earnestness in equal parts with influences ranging from the Stereo MCs to Ali Farka Toure. Their current sound largely consists of folkish, romantic pop songs influenced by Scott Walker.

Jenny Lindfors

Jenny Lindfors has one of the smoothest and effortlessly soulful voice I have ever heard. Her songwriting has a lovely easy feel and is the perfect start to FM11.

I'm hosting the night and will play a couple.

We have changed the format slightly, with 4 acts instead of 5. it gives us all a bit more time to breathe etc!

We pass the hat at the end of the night for the artists so bring a few quid if you're feeling generous.
