My Dance The Skull presents Secret Anarchy Garden
Tuesday the 11th of October
7pm til 11pm
£5
‘SECRET ANARCHY GARDEN’ is an evening of experimental sounds, convulsive sound-poetry and junk concrete film curated by London based publishing house and tape label, My Dance The Skull.
Artists performing on the night: Dylan Nyoukis, Daniel Spicer, Tom Roberts, Lewis Major, Tom White, Valerio Cosi, Architeuthis Rex and Sindre Bjerga.
Dylan Nyoukis’ music exists outside of as many genre boxes as anyone might care to stick it into. A restless hurricane of mangled-throat vocalisation, wobbly tape murk, and feral punk/noise, the sound is urgently alive and human with a volatile undercurrent of absurd/sinister humour. As the head of pioneering DIY label Chocolate Monk, Dylan has been issuing a steady stream of sub-underground homemade strangeness since the early 1990s, including a slew of tapes and CDRs by his former band Prick Decay/Decaer Pinga, Ceylon Mange (with guitarist Bill Nace) and now Blood Stereo (a duo with his wife, the artist Karen Constance).

Valerio Cosi."I couldn't recommend highly enough Italian wunderkind multi-instrumentalist Valerio Cosi's "Immortal Attitudes" (CDR); his sun-drenched sax-drone-ragas will make you wish it was 1969 hanging with Terry Riley at an Alice Coltrane gig - or vice versa." (Stephen Clover, Foxy Digitalis writer/musician)

Architeuthis Rex. Leviathan. King. Magnificent sea dweller and haunter of the dreams of Italian artists Antonio Gallucci and Francesca Marongiu. It sounds like an aperture into a horrific underwater world filled with the fear of what lies outside, an orchestra of giant octopuses, ocarinas and morays murmurs, a kaleidoscope of early dub acetates, strange strings, outer space broadcasts of unholy funeral rites, mescaline, percussion and metaphysical drone.

Sindre Bjerga has been touring the UK every October for the last 5 years, as well as mainland Europe and even Russia, with his cassette player drones and kitchen sink psychedelia... Splattering collisions between grey and grey, beware of drone fumes seeping into your brains... Armed with an array of tape players, dictaphones and a pile of less-than-glamourous sound debris from the sonic junkyards, he tries to juxtapose and melt sound ghosts hidden deep in the molten magnetic tapes, sometimes force feeding them with sheets of feedback from dying amps, always aiming for that mind-altering head trip...
Sindre has been recording and playing over 70 concerts together with Jan Iversen as the Bjerga/Iversen duo.
Has released about 100 records, solo, duo and in other constellations on labels all over the known universe.
Lately most of his records have been live recordings from his many concerts and tours around Europe.
